Commitment to the Local Community
Our employees strive to ensure that we are good neighbors
Vulcan Materials has a long-standing history of commitment to the Madera and Fresno community, through support of local schools, charitable organizations and through the volunteerism of our employees in community benefit programs over the last eight years.
Partners In Education Program
Vulcan currently partners with several schools in Madera and Fresno Counties. Madera County partner schools include Sierra View Elementary, Webster Elementary, and Minarets High School (O’Neals). Fresno County partner schools include Roosevelt High School, Copper Hills Elementary, Foothill Elementary (Prather), and Centerville Elementary (Sanger).
School partnerships include educational plant tours, classroom supplies, speakers, scholarships, sponsorships and materials donations.
In addition to partnering directly with individual schools, Vulcan’s commitment to the Golden Valley Unified School District since 2008 includes charitable donations of nearly $25,000.
Vulcan also partners with Fresno State University annually and supports the engineering department as well as the Bulldog Foundation.
Other Community Involvement in Madera and Fresno Counties
In addition to supporting local schools, Vulcan Materials prides itself on becoming part of the community and that includes supporting local charities. A small example of some of the local organizations we support includes youth sports leagues, Station 19, the Kiwanas, the Chamber of Commerce and several conservation groups including the Sacramento Valley Conservancy, the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust, Sierra Foothill Conservancy and the California Council for Wildlife Rehabilitators.
