About This Project
The Austin Quarry project encompasses a 671-acre site.
Of the 671 acres:
348 acres will comprise the quarry, plant site, entrance road and berms.
323 acres will be undisturbed and contain grasslands, natural drainage channels, and wetlands not be disturbed by project activities now or at any time in the future.
The site is located in an unincorporated area of Madera County, approximately 12 miles east of the City of Madera and 8 miles north of the City of Fresno.
The Austin Quarry will provide steady, high-paying jobs for decades.
The Conditional Use Permit for Vulcan’s nearby River Rock facility expires in 2015, at which time quarry operations will cease and the site will be reclaimed according to its reclamation plan.
A key factor in the cost of construction is the proximity of aggregates to construction sites
